RR&TC Racer: The “Joggy Bottoms” Edition #128

Hi Rutlanders

The Great British Bake-Off may have brought the phrase “Soggy Bottom” to the British Conscience but we runners do have the “Joggy Bottoms” … and hence this very tenuous link provides the means to announce the Gingerbread Series of Club Xmas runs in this week’s edition of The Racer plus other festive preparations.

RR&TC Racer: The “Icy Blast” Edition #127

Hi Rutlanders

Well the temperatures are certainly taking a dip over the past 7 days and the winds are blowing them leaves down. Still we can just layer up and enjoy getting out there training and racing … and the warm bath or shower afterwards is always accompanied with a sense of “I’m hard-core me” 😉

Hi Rutlanders

First off, congratulations to Becky Murton for completing her first full circuit of Rutland Water and hence is now an honorary member of the Puddle Club. She completed the 15.2 mile run accompanied by Paul Rogerson and myself in just under 2.5 hours.

In this week’s Racer, Andy Slater shares his relentless pain and suffering, report on the Rutland Water 1st anniversary parkrun and a 30 day challenge that might interest you and more ..

Hi Rutlanders

There was nice small turnout at last Thursday’s Rutland Round social evening at The Nelson in Oakham. Congratulations to Jo Smith, Becky Murton, Emma Potter, Paul Rogerson (& me) for completing the full set of 10 legs … Paul just scraping in by running his final leg that afternoon 🙂

RR&TC Racer: The “1-2-3” Edition #123

Hi Rutlanders

The dark nights are with us so please wear some reflective stuff if you are out running in the dark and consider carrying a torch if your route is not well lit – please stay safe out there. Meantime this week we have the results from the latest Club Championship race and how did Zoe Smith get on at the Ironman World Championships?

RR&TC Racer: The “Autumn” Edition #122

Hi Rutlanders

A short edition this week as I’m not aware of much action this past week. Congratulations to Becky Murton for becoming the latest member to complete this year’s Rutland Round. Next week hopefully Emma Potter will also be joining the small, but perfectly formed, list of “completers”.

Also a quick bit of kudos to Beginners Session graduate Gary Kirk who gained a new parkrun pb last Saturday at Rutland Water but also this was the third consecutive week that he’s broken the 30 minute barrier – top running Gary 🙂
