Hello and welcome to the website of Rutland Running & Triathlon Club.
We are a small friendly club based in Oakham, Rutland. While we encourage all members to achieve their athletic goals we realise that you may just want an occasional social run with some new friends, or that you may need to dip in and out of regular sessions because life’s like that and sometimes gets in the way. While we would love you to come along to all of our weekly club sessions there is absolutely no compulsion or pressure to do so, you are always free to train at your own pace and in the time you have available. You will find us supportive of all your run/bike/swim ambitions and we occasionally hire professional coaches to run special technique or improver courses although we do not offer a formal coaching path within the club. Instead we rely on the enthusiasm, knowledge and experience of our members to help you improve and enjoy your chosen sport(s). Our membership includes some extremely accomplished athletes who train hard to achieve their goals, while many other members prefer a more social approach to their running/biking/swimming and this broad spectrum of ideals, ambitions, and abilities gives the club a unique vibe which we are very proud of and which we strive hard to maintain.
The club organises a fun but competitive Women’s and Men’s Championship race series each year with one nominated race per month and trophies for the winners. We also run a ‘Mini Triathlon’ each summer to give members who want to ‘try a tri’ the chance without the pressures of a real race.
If this sounds like your kind of club feel free to come along to any of our regular sessions and give us a try before deciding to join, we promise to make you feel welcome.
