Leicestershire Road Running League

In 2026, Rutland Running & Triathlon Club joined the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), giving even more of our members the opportunity to enjoy racing as part of the club.

Founded in 1984 by Ted Toft, the LRRL has grown to become one of the largest leagues of its kind in the UK, bringing together running clubs from across Leicestershire and the surrounding area.

As newcomers to the league, Rutland started in Division 3 and made a fantastic start, with our Ladies Vet team winning their division in our very first season. Just as importantly, participation grew throughout the year – from a handful of Rutland runners at our first event to almost 20 members taking part at the Stilton Striders race in Hose.

Everyone is welcome

You don’t need to be one of the club’s fastest runners to take part in the league. Every member is welcome, whatever your pace or racing experience.

The races are friendly, supportive events and a great opportunity to try racing for the first time, set yourself a new challenge, work towards a personal goal or simply enjoy a run alongside other members of the club.

There’s always plenty of Rutland support along the way too, so whether you’re chasing a PB, earning points for the club or just happy to cross the finish line, we’d love to have you on the team.

We’re looking forward to another season of friendly competition in 2027 – and, most importantly, seeing even more Rutland runners joining us on the start line.
